Special Orders: Hold My Beer Wed, Mar 01, 23 | beer blog Let’s talk about hard-to-find and seasonal beer. A lot of the breweries who distribute beer in Central Arkansas issue special release brews. They’re brewed once per year, in small batches, only available for a short time. There are two ways you can score a few bottles: happen to be in the store while they’re on the shelf or ask us to hold some, AKA pre-order. Here are a few examples. DOUBLE TWO HEARTED ALE, Bell’s This double IPA has everything that’s in Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, and then some. The malt backbone is amped up, along with Centennial Select hops to make a delicious, balanced beer. Double Two Hearted Ale is usually released in August, so ordering in early Summer, like June or July, is a good idea. BIGFOOT, Sierra Nevada An American take on traditional English barleywine, this is a beast of a beer. Whole cone Pacific Northwest hops and bittersweet malt give Bigfoot a huge flavor profile. Its appearance in-store is nearly as fleeting as its hairy namesake; order in the Fall and expect it to arrive in early January. WALDOS’, Lagunitas Lagunitas’ entry into the seasonal category is a triple IPA that’s prized for its citrus/malt blend. Sophisticated and resinous, order Waldos’ in early Spring for April delivery. These are but a few examples of outstanding seasonal suds we sell. We’ll be glad to add you to our email list so you don’t miss out on your favorites when they hit the shelves! By Clark Trim
